Tom is a musician and teacher based in Islington, London. He has been playing the guitar since 2006, and teaching private lessons since 2015.
With personalised lessons and custom written tabs upon request, Tom strives to follow the interests and abilities of each student individually.
Tom has taught over 2500 guitar lessons and brings a relaxed, friendly, and thorough approach to helping people reach their goals on the guitar.

ABOUT ME
I played my first gig in 2010 at age 14, and since then have been involved in many bands and projects across a variety of genres.
I've been teaching for 9 years, have a diploma in teaching from the London College of Music, and an enhanced DBS certificate.
As well as touring and playing hundreds of shows on guitar and bass, I have worked in high end studios such as Abbey Road and BBC Maida Vale, and recorded live sessions for BBC Radio 1 and Radio X. I have also composed music for various bands and projects including podcasts and video games.

LESSONS
Sessions are tailored specifically to each student's abilities and interests, with the aim of building an achievable and enjoyable practice routine to progress in the areas of guitar or bass which are most important to you. Song requests are welcome and encouraged.

Let's face it, we love tabs websites and they are an amazing resource, but too often they can be unreliable and sometimes confusing. This is why I transcribe songs myself as a free service for all of my students. This means that we can use reliable and accurate sheet music* and we are not limited by books or paywalls on the internet.
This means that if you are finding it hard to learn a song by ear, or struggling to follow a Youtube tutorial, I can help by writing out the music for you in a very accessible way, giving you feedback and suggesting ways you can improve. No matter how obscure the song or artist. You could even ask for a guitar version of a piano song for example!
